How we work

Connect in the office three days a week (Mon, Tue, Thur), while saving two days for optional at-home focus time. We trust our people to use this flexibility in the best interest of their team.

Balance work and life with 30 working days of telecommuting per year (with manager approval), giving you the flexibility to explore new destinations while working.

Invest in your development with a 1000€ annual budget for learning and growth opportunities. Whether it’s courses, conferences, or resources, we support every step of your journey.
How we hire
After you’ve sent in your application, our recruiters will ascertain if your skills, experience, and motivation are a match.
We’ll have a brief chat to learn more about your background and goals. Get prepped for this stage by familiarizing yourself with our culture and values beforehand.
We’ll give you a short task to evaluate your coding skills and developer knowledge.
Next, we’ll dive into your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. You can stand out by approaching any challenges as growth opportunities.
You’ll connect with an Engineering Manager and other future colleagues to get a feel for our culture.
If it feels like a great fit on both sides, we’ll welcome you onboard with an official offer! We can’t wait to see how far you can grow.

There are six core application stages you’d be engaged in. The process may look slightly different for some roles.
How we assess AI skills
AI is a key part of how we build, but what matters most is your judgment and the results you deliver. We’ll look at:
See how we use AI at GetYourGuideAre you curious about exploring what’s possible, staying open, and willing to learn as the tools evolve?
Depending on the role, we may ask you to walk us through how you’ve used AI to solve a problem, or show your thinking in a live exercise.
We want to know what you’ve built, tried, failed, and learned along the way. We’re also looking for evidence of your business impact.
In most interviews, our focus will be on having an authentic, in-the-moment discussion. In technical evaluations (such as case studies or presentations) you’ll be told if using AI is expected and welcomed.
What “good” looks like varies role by role. Your recruiter will always walk you through what to expect, including where AI usage is encouraged, where it’s not the focus, and how to put your best foot forward.
Frequently asked questions
During the face-to-face stage, candidates typically participate in multiple interviews at once. This might include a presentation about a past project, a stakeholder and team fit interview, and a recruiter wrap-up at the end. We usually aim to schedule these interviews back-to-back on the same day. However, sometimes it can be challenging, so interviews could be split between morning and afternoon or even spread across multiple days, depending on interviewers' and candidates' schedules. Rest assured, we'll send a confirmation email with all the details. If the proposed schedule doesn't work for you, please let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Depending on where you are in the process, we'll provide you with the reason for not moving forward in the rejection email. We get tons of applications and hold many interviews each week, so we can only offer feedback calls to candidates who've reached the face-to-face stage. If that's you, we'd be happy to set up a 15-minute call to give you some valuable feedback!
Recruiters typically inform you of all the steps during the first call, but sometimes things can change. For example, they might need to verify your work permit before proceeding or the person you're meeting next could be out of the office. To stay in the loop, always ask about the next steps at the end of each interview, no matter which stage you're at.
For those applying to business roles, we typically carry out reference checks. We understand that your current manager may not know about your job search, so we kindly ask for the contact information of two recent managers you've worked with. Don't worry, previous managers are perfectly fine too!
If you're having your first interview with GetYourGuide, take some time to learn about the company, including recent news, company culture, and the team you're hoping to join. We have plenty of articles on Inside GetYourGuide blog, and our LinkedIn page is a great place to get acquainted with our culture and various departments. For later-stage interviews, feel free to ask your interviewer if there's anything specific they'd like you to prepare. Don't forget to come up with a few questions about the role and our values and culture in advance. Good luck! 🚀
We recommend always asking the hiring manager or recruiter about the next steps, deadlines, and timelines at the end of each interview. We do our best to respond to candidates quickly, but keep in mind that every interviewer has their own working style. Asking these questions helps manage expectations and keeps you informed. 👌
