Hello! I’m Laura. I moved to Berlin from the farmlands of the US and I’ve been working as a Brand Designer at GetYourGuide for the past year. My daily tasks center around creating the designs that customers interact with outside of the GetYourGuide platform. I’ve designed billboards, newsletters, flyers, automobile wraps, videos, posters, social media posts, and merchandise...and that’s only a small sampling. I approach my daily tasks with the intention to create smart, beautifully on-brand, and joyful design.
Together, the design, visuals, and copy teams form the Creative Studio. We work very closely with one another: checking in every morning, looking over each other’s work, and giving and receiving feedback. We’re ambitious, eager to learn, and passionate about what we do. We bring “love where you’re going” to life!
Our team strategy is focused on promoting brand awareness and creating a brand that customers are able to connect with and genuinely want to use again. We’re working towards a future where GetYourGuide is synonymous with vacation and discovering incredible things to do around the world. We measure the impact of our work through a variety of metrics that monitor brand awareness and affinity. The brand performance team helps us analyze how our assets perform across various channels and how they resonate with our customers.
Our biggest challenge is that we have too many amazing projects to work on and not enough designers. We need more (wo)manpower, which is why we’re expanding our team.
Continuously shaping the brand is also an exciting challenge. Each new piece of design we produce is an opportunity to develop our standards a bit further. Sometimes it’s easy to see the way, but other times it’s not as clear and requires a lot of iteration. That being said, the Brand team has a lot of influence right now, so it’s an exciting time to join us. I love the reward of seeing our designs out in the world — our brand is so full of intention and joy.
I offered a bit of advice in our team profile interview. In addition to “show up,” I would say: come brimming with creativity!
Our brand is full of possibility. As the company grows, we’re developing the scope of our experiences. My team gets to help shape these experiences! We collaborate with lots of different teams on lots of amazing projects. At the end of the day, working to help travelers love the experiences they have on vacation — and make incredible memories — is what inspires my work.
